Who We Are
We provide innovative educational applications for bilingual communities.
Our mission is to support the development of bilingualism and bring equity in education to bilingual communities in the United States. Our solution, The BLAST mobile app, addresses the need for adequate assessment and literacy materials for the growing bilingual population that enters U.S. educational systems. The project is funded by awards from the National Science Foundation and NewSchools Venture Fund.
BLAST
BLAST is a user-friendly, fully automated, multi-platform, language and literacy assessment for emergent bilinguals, that allows them to respond in English, their home language, or both. It measures reading, writing, listening, speaking, and cognitive skills. The assessment is intuitive, adapting to each student on the go, based on their responses, and is graded automatically in real time.
